As faculty and leaders of higher education, we are faced with the challenge of effectively engaging today’s digital natives and the digital tools that empower them to connect instantly with people around the globe. The 21st century classrooms can be a dynamic and interactive environment. Students can learn to participate in a community, take more responsibility for their learning, and be better prepared for a world dependent on collaboration and technology.

  • Objective 1: See collaboration in action: learn why it is important.
  • Objective 2: Examine a “Collaboration Framework”: use the framework to design and assess collaborative experiences.
  • Objective 3: Explore eight categories of online collaborative tools: categorize the abundance of tools to find your gems.
